Sun 13th MGs in the Trees South Staffs MGOC have decided to repeat the 2011 venue for their premier event "MGs in the Trees" at Chasewater Country Park, Brownhills. The heritage railway will again be in operation, and the spacious and easily accessible surroundings are perfect for the event. The date for your diaries is Sunday the 13th May 2012, a little earlier than in previous years, in an attempt to avoid clashes of dates with other major events. Web: http://www.ssmgoc.co.uk |

Mon 01st - Tue 30th Jingers Jaunts (NZ) Ltd - An “Australian Amble” 2012 A 30 day, 6,000 mile road trip starting and finishing in Sydney is Tim ‘Jingers’ Riley’s latest expedition. Scheduled for October 2012 it follows on from his highly successful New Zealand “Jingers Jaunt” in 2010; On which customer Andrew Marshall commented, “I found it friendly, welcoming, supportive, grown up, without favouritism, inclusive to all levels of experience, fun, safe, flexible, and stimulating.” ‘Jingers’ has considerable experience of rallying and expeditions around the globe, hardly surprising; it’s in his blood being the son of Peter Riley and Ann Wisdom. The event has been carefully planned to cater for all levels of experience and types of vehicle. “We can ship vehicles into Australia from virtually anywhere in the world whether it’s a classic car from the 30’s or a modern 4x4. We can also arrange for locally hired 4x4’s as part of the all-inclusive package if this is preferred,” says Jingers. While experienced rallyists will find the event challenging and satisfying Jingers recognizes that some may want to take more direct or easier routes between overnight stops in order to explore the local sites and culture more thoroughly, in fact many aspects of the itinerary can be tailor made to individual requirements. Regular rest days are scheduled to allow for “chilling-out and pampering” or to take off-route excursions to places of interest. Jingers has put his local knowledge and contacts to good use with detours off the beaten track to visit some of Australia’s hidden treasures in addition to the more obvious highlights such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Sunshine Coast. Vehicles travel independently during the day but everybody stays at the same accommodation, usually the best available, 4 or 5 star hotel. There is an easy camaraderie that flourishes on a “Jingers Jaunt”, particularly during the overnight stops and included excursions. The highly experienced support team includes an event administrator to iron-out the inevitable logistics, a Doctor, ready to attend to any health and personal comfort issues, a professional photographer who records the event whilst you travel and an experienced, capable mechanic who ensures that wherever possible the wheels keep on turning. The ‘Jingers’ team primary objective is for everyone to have an enjoyable and memorable amble through Australia. Those interested in participating in ‘Jingers’ Australian Amble, October 2012, can find out more by contacting: Email: info@jingersjaunts.co.nz Web: http://www.jingersjaunts.co.nz |
