Kimber Run 2023

Join the MGOC for the annual Kimber Run. For 2023 the base will be the Moira Furnace Museum, sitting alongside the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal on the Leicestershire border.

We will be starting with a hot drink and bacon cob, courtesy of the museum volunteers. You will then set off on a circular route of the spectacular surrounding countryside. On your return you will have the opportunity to experience the small, but interesting, three part museum. At the top of the building you will be taken through the process of producing iron, the reason the furnace was built. The middle part of the building covers the history of the furnace itself, looking at the layout and the characters who lived on site until 1970. Finally the WW1 kitchen takes you back to times gone by.

For a small fee, on the day, you have the opportunity to experience a fifteen minute boat trip, along the canal.

£28 per car of two people, additional passengers £11. To include a bacon cob with hot drink on arrival, route book and rally board, parking and entry tot he museum.
