MG BECOMES THE OFFICIAL GLOBAL CAR PARTNER OF LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB

MG Motor has signed a partnership with Liverpool FC, becoming the historic football club’s official global car partner. The contract signing ceremony took place at Anfield Stadium, the famous home of Liverpool FC, and will accelerate MG’s brand awareness in the UK and around the world.

With their sixth European Cup secured in June this year, Liverpool FC has built a strong reputation as one of the most successful football clubs in the world. This partnership gives MG and Liverpool FC fans the opportunity to get up close and personal behind the scenes, with VIP experiences to watch the team training, signed merchandise and the chance to enjoy matches at Anfield.

Commenting on the association, Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “We’re proud to be working in partnership with Liverpool Football Club, a British name as famous as MG’s. Our two brands both have great sporting heritage and a desire for innovation, whether that’s in new football tactics or new electric cars! This partnership gives us the chance to tell football fans about our story and give them fabulous football experiences with Liverpool FC”.

Billy Hogan, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer, Liverpool Football Club, said: “MG, an iconic car brand with a rich sporting heritage, has been a valued partner of the club for several years. We’re incredibly pleased to not only be renewing this relationship, but also be expanding it on a global scale. As partners, we have brought some incredible opportunities to our fans and chances for them to get closer to the action. I’m looking forward to seeing what else we can achieve now that our focus becomes global.”

The partnership comes as MG prepares to announce its entry into the zero-emissions vehicle market with MG ZS EV, the first truly affordable, family friendly electric car. The most high-tech MG to date, ZS EV has been designed to bring electric cars to a wider audience and represents an exciting new chapter in the MG story.
